Hey, we've added a daytime women's golf league!

Wish you could play in a league that tees off during the day?

You’re in luck! We’re now offering a daytime league!

This 9-hole league will play at Lima Golf and Country Club on Thursdays, June 3 to August 19 (12 weeks), and will tee off at 11:00AM.

It will be a fun league. We’ll coordinate foursomes as players check in at 10:40AM. After each round, you’re invited to stay for lunch, socialization, and relaxation.

The league will alternate between the Charleston Pines and Island Oaks as coordinated by the pro-shop.

We are offering online registration for this event!

The cost to join this league is $180 for EWGA Members and $216 for Non-Members. (Please note that if you want to pay by credit card or Paypal, there will be an additional $7.00 processing fee.)

Click here to access the online registration form. You can use the form to select your payment option.

This league starts in less than three weeks! If you want to join, please get us your registration by May 24!

Our Weekend Travel League Is About to Start

One of the benefits of joining Rochester’s EWGA chapter is our Weekend Travel League.

It’s a great way for our members to meet and network with other Rochester women golfers — plus try out a variety of Rochester golf courses.

We also vary the days we play (some weekends we play on Saturdays, some weekends we play on Sundays) and the tee times (we usually go off early afteroon, but sometimes play earlier) to accommodate as many peoples’ schedules as possible over the season.

Already a Member?

Then you don’t have to do a thing!

The Monday before the round, you’ll receive an email with information about the course, tee times, and greens fees for the coming weekend. Just respond to the email by 12:00 PM Thursday to reserve your spot. (Pay your greens fees to the course when you arrive to play.)

Not a Member? How About Joining?

The Weekend Travel League is open only to EWGA members (and their guests).

So if this league format fits your schedule and lifestyle, why not join EWGA?

You’ll also receive discounts on our golf events and instruction, and can participate in the EWGA Championship Tournament.

Click here to read more about membership benefits and how to join.

Rochester women new to golf? There is still some room in our beginners league!

One of the great things about the EWGA is that we provide opportunities to help beginning women golfers learn the game.

That’s why we’re so pleased to have a beginner’s golf league again this year.

And the good news? We still have a couple of spots left in the league!

This six-week league runs May 25 – June 29, and costs $105 for EWGA members and $125 non-members. Carts are included. The league will play at
Champion Hills, the newest private course in the Rochester area, under the guidance of LPGA Pro Darlene Sommer .

The first week will feature an introduction to the course and other players, orientation and the opportunity to play a few holes. Weeks 2 – 6 will be 9 holes regular stroke play.

Players tee off beginning at 5:30. USGA Handicaps (GHIN or GLMS) are encouraged, but not required.

Looking for a Rochester women's golf league?

One of the great things about the Rochester Region, NY Chapter of the Executive Women’s Golf Association: we run a number of leagues for women golfers.

Our leagues are open to both members and non-members (although members’ fees are discounted — one of the many benefits of joining the EWGA!)

We hold our leagues at courses all around the greater Rochester area — so you can find a league that’s convenient to home or work.

We also give you a number of scheduling choices. You can pick a league that plays at a day/time that is convenient for you as well.

Some of our leagues are casual. Others are more competitive. We have leagues to help beginners learn golf rules and etiquette, and leagues where you must have a handicap to play (but since you get free access to the Golf Life Management handicap system as part of your EWGA membership, that’s easy to do!)

All of our leagues have one thing in common, however: they are friendly and supportive places for women to socialize, network, and play golf.

We’re in the process now of planning our 2010 leagues.

We’ll have league sign-up sheets at our annual kick-off on March 20 at Midvale Country Club.

You can also stay in touch by signing up for our email list — use the button on the site’s left hand sidebar. Or reach out directly to our chapter League Chair here.

We've made it easier to sign up for emails

Want to receive emails from us about golf-related events?

envelopeThen you should definitely sign up for our mailing list. You’ll be in the loop when we send out notices about events, like the upcoming networking get together at Tap & Mallet, or news, like the formation of our 2010 leagues.

You don’t have to be a member of the EWGA to be on our list, although we’d love to have you!

And it’s never been easier. Just scroll down and click the yellow “Click here to Subscribe” button on the left-hand sidebar.

Thanks and we’ll be in touch!

Mark your calendar: Weekend Travel League Dates

Our Weekend Travel League is a great way for you to get out for a round of golf with other Rochester-area women — without having to make a big advance commitment. It’s also a great way to sample a lot of different area courses!

Here’s how it works. We send out an e-mail early in the week to tell you what course will be played, the tee times that have been reserved, and the cost.

You RSVP to the coordinator no later than 12:00 PM on the Wednesday prior to the date you want to play (unused tee times are released back to the golf course).

The format is 18 hole individual play with the opportunity to play with a different foursome each weekend that you wish to participate.

For courses that can accommodate such, players will be offered the option of playing 9 holes only.

You can come yourself, or bring a girlfriend (or two! or three!) You don’t have to be an EWGA member to play.

Here are the dates we’ll be playing this year:

  • May 23rd (Saturday)
  • June 6th (Saturday)
  • June 14th (Sunday)
  • June 20th (Saturday)
